Prints
I have been making etchings since I was a student of fine art at Leeds University. I continued to etch at evening classes at Morley College and City of London College until I was able to buy my own press, a second-hand Bendini. This was a liberation for me, as it enabled me to work independently from home, at a time when I had three little children.
At this time I was invited to be a member of the Greenwich Printmakers, which gave me wonderful opportunities to exhibit and meet many other printmakers. My work consists mainly of small figurative studies and still-lives. Etchings are drawn on zinc plate, principally in soft ground with the occasional use of aquatint. Editions are therefore small in number, usually around fifty.
